Zanmai Revolution 3 Limited Edition 25

The popular Zanmai Revolution line has gained a premium sibling. Not that the standard Revolution series isn’t premium enough, but the “Limited Edition” label says it all. It’s not just about limited availability, but above all about the design itself. So let’s take a closer look.

At first glance, we notice the blade’s unusual color. It is not typical Kurouchi, but rather a dark hue achieved through chemical treatment of the steel. The upper silvery section features a Nishiji texture that transitions into a smooth, dark, semi-matte shade with a Metoshi finish. This concludes the distinctive hamon. The San Mai blade has an SPG2 powder steel core and a symmetrical edge. It is difficult to determine which aspect stands out most: the aesthetic qualities, the craftsmanship, or the material composition. In our opinion, it is a balanced blend of the very best.

The manufacturer would never use any material other than a nickel-silver alloy for the guard on a knife like this. A subtle dark ring separates it from the ergonomically perfect 10-sided handle, which features a decorative pin. The handle is made of desert hornbeam, which offers not only a beautiful hue and distinctive grain but also exceptional strength.

The knife is carefully packaged in a paulownia wood case. But we know it won’t stay there for long. In addition to its perfect cutting performance, you’ll love its appearance.
