Senzo "Entrée"
"Nice knives, shame about the name" said one of our customers. When asked why, he explained that the word Suncraft does not sound Japanese at all. Although he is right, we could reason that the sun and craft have a lot in common with Japan. This customer is not at all pleased with the name of the new series produced by the manufacturer from the city of Seki. But knives definitely yes.
Senzo "Entrée" is the name of a series of knives that are the gateway to the world of Japanese blades from the Suncraft workshop. It is a certain "appetizer" to get you in the right mood for the main course, let's say in the form of Senzo Black. The Senzo "Entrée" series blade has everything you would expect from a Japanese blade. It is three-layered /San Mai/ with a very hard core and a fine edge. The AUS8 core produced by the mammoth Aichi steel plant is hardened to a very solid hardness of 58 HRC. Like the core, the outer layers are made of anti-corrosion material. The edge is symmetrical on both sides. In order for the blade to visually resemble the country of origin, it carries, in addition to stamped kanji characters, an artificially created hamon. This reference to Japanese swords subtly separates the hairline texture from the polished underside.
Full tang construction is not usual in this price range. The significantly profiled handle is even more surprising. The absence of a bolster is artfully disguised by an ergonomic bevel at the interface with the blade. The upper part is rounded for a comfortable grip. The aesthetic aspect is completed by a decorative rivet.
3 knives from the Senzo "Entrée" series will not only cover most tasks in the kitchen, but will also please your eyes.
