Tojiro GAI

The Tojiro brand is already among the constants on our market. It is one of the larger manufacturers with a wide range. Whether you are looking for knives with European ergonomics but exemplary Japanese cutting performance, or traditional Japanese designs, Tojiro will never disappoint you. Despite the fact that there is still a lot to choose from, the manufacturer often adds new models to its collection. We are pleased to have the honor of introducing you to the hot new Tojiro GAI.

The new GAI series consists of four carefully selected types of knives. They are exactly the ones you use most often at work or at home. The length of the blades is rather among the more nimble ones, or you can call them more clever. You have at your disposal a universal preparation knife Petty, a vegetable master Nakiri, a Japanese chef Santoku and Gyuto, which directly sticks with meat. If the manufacturer can be criticized for anything regarding the composition of the collection, perhaps it is the absence of a bread knife with a serrated blade.

Looking at the knife's appearance, you don't need to know the Japanese language to decipher its name.

Thanks to the massive and articulated handle, it will remind you of armor and that is exactly what the word GAI means. The color and rough texture of the quality Micarta evoke a reference to the armor of samurai warriors. For some, they will resemble even on the rough leather of sting-ray, which can be found on the handle of original katana type swords. Whatever the shape, the handles perfectly fulfill the main role of a firm grip without the risk of slipping. An interesting finishing touch to the "weapon look" are the hexagonal heads of the three screws.

For the blades, the manufacturer opted for a very popular Damascene composition. The hard cutting core made of VG-10 cobalt steel is lined on each side with 18 layers of softer and harder steel. This type of layering is called kasumi. The result is a 37-layer damascene blade, which is not only beautiful, but also strong. Of course, Tojiro cannot miss a laser print in kanji characters as well as the name and country of origin in Latin. The blade is symmetrical, Hamaguri type. This means that there is minimal friction when cutting, which not only makes your work easier, but actually invites you to do it. The knives are packed in very tasteful and even decent cardboard boxes, which clearly meet the requirements for gift packaging.
