Grinders

Japanese grinding stones are the most suitable for sharpening Japanese kitchen knives. However, the situation or time does not always allow this choice. After all, we are forced to use an alternative solution. And here come the irreplaceable helpers - grinders and grinding rods.

Knife grinders are usually produced in two versions. Some use water to lubricate the grinding wheels, others can sharpen without it. The grinding segments are designed to handle both basic and fine sharpening. Some are complemented by a diamond wheel or a grinding stone. Just let´s choose.

Using grinders is easy. You insert the blade into the designated hole and move it in both directions. The result will surely surprise you. Either way, you should indulge your knife from time to time in contact with a quality whetstone. 

Our tip: we recommend that you avoid electric grinders where you do not control the amount of material removed.
