Shippu Black Edition
Blade core made of VG 10 with a hardness of 61 HRC, cladding of folded hard and softer steels on the sides. The result is a beautiful 63-layer damask pattern /petty and paring knife 37 layers/. That would be enough for someone, but definitely not for Shippu!
The final layer is a special oxide paint used in healthcare. It gives the blades a mystical smoky expression. The icing on the cake are golden kanji applications. It is probably useless to recall that Tojiro used his DP method (decarbonization prevention) in the production of these blades. The resin ferrule is a partition between the blade and the chestnut handle in the classic "D" shape. The wood has a fire finish, not only to perfectly harmonize with the smoky appearance of the blade, but to make it more water resistant. Transparent matt lacquer ensures color stability of the material. Despite its 63 layers, the knives are surprisingly light, just like the wind.
Who is looking for the purest aesthetic concentrate combined with the ultimate material is in the right place.
