Product detail

For a football fan, the top event is the Champions League. A lover of hyper sports cars looks up to the Koenigsegg brand. And what about an outdoor knife enthusiast? Of course, he also knows his Everest. It is not in Nepal but in Japan. Naturally, it is the ROCKSTEAD brand.

We admit, we have been trying to get direct representation of this brand for several years, but without success. It was not about trust, but about production capacities and demand. Just look at the manufacturer's website, which begins with an apology for the inability to accept all orders. We were offered the opportunity to purchase goods from the existing distribution network, but being a reseller is strictly against our business policy. We appreciate it all the more that in the end, with the help of our Japanese partners, we heard from representatives of the company "Welcome aboard". We have obtained the status of official importer of Rockstead products for Slovakia.

Rockstead specializes in the production of the most premium knives. This small company has a state-of-the-art machining center consisting of NC cutters, milling machines and polishers working with absolute precision. Some of the equipment for the tasks that Rockstead uses exclusively is manufactured by the company itself. Its operators work with experienced craftsmen who create the mirror-like surface of each blade. Rockstead knives are considered custom-made products, so by no means are they a regular mass production.

Mechanical and craftsmanship perfection is combined with unrivaled materials. The blades are made of the hardest existing steels from the Hitachi Metals portfolio and its famous YSS division, such as powder ZDP189 or matrix high-speed YXR7. Corrosion resistance is increased by a perfectly polished surface or DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) treatment. Micarta, carbon or titanium with DLC or DLC Prism surface are used for the handles.

You know who you are dealing with when you first pick up the knife. Ergonomically, you feel that it was designed exactly for your hand. You immediately feel the massiveness and solidity of the material. The blade's movement cannot be described. It has to be experienced. So do its locks. Whether it is a Liner-lock or Push button lock. The mirror-polished blade has in most cases a convex cut, which the manufacturer calls Honzukuri. The specialty is the smooth change in the angle of the blade from 30° at the handle to 24° at the tip. This "floating angle" contributes to the blade's lifespan while maintaining high sharpness.

Fixed blade knives come with practical sheaths. They are usually a combination of Micarta, leather, nylon or Kydex. The sheaths have locking clasps so you don't have to worry about losing your jewel.

The knives are packed in wooden boxes. Some in traditional Nishijin woven bags. Each knife has its own serial number. Its first owner has the opportunity to register the knife on the manufacturer's website (https://www.rockstead.jp/). This will give them a lifetime guarantee against any manufacturing defects and the opportunity to send the knife to the manufacturer for professional sharpening. The sharpening will be done by the manufacturer free of charge, shipping costs are borne by the buyer.
